The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics (IFJ PAN) is currently one of the largest research institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The broad range of studies and activities of IFJ PAN includes basic and applied research, ranging from particle physics and astrophysics, through hadron physics, high-, medium-, and low-energy nuclear physics, condensed matter physics (including materials engineering), to various applications of methods of nuclear physics in interdisciplinary research, covering medical physics, dosimetry, radiation and environmental biology, environmental protection, and other related disciplines.
The average yearly yield of the IFJ PAN in recent years encompasses over 600 scientific papers in the Journal Citation Reports published by the Clarivate Analytics.
The part of the Institute is the Cyclotron Centre Bronowice (CCB) which is an infrastructure, unique in Central Europe, to serve as a clinical and research centre in the area of medical and nuclear physics.

It is our great pleasure to invite you to a Training Course on Radiation Protection Dosimetry and Accreditation of IMS: Secrets & Solutions, based on the European document RP160, to be held at IFJ PAN, Kraków, Poland, from 3rd to 7th June 2024.
The Training Course will be organized by the EURADOS WG02 on Harmonization of Individual Monitoring in Europe and IFJ PAN in Krakow. This well-established education and training event is supported by PTB, the general organization is done by Oliver Hupe, PTB.
The program committee consists of Oliver Hupe, PTB, Germany, Francesco Rossi, AOU Careggi, Italy and Nicky Gibbens, UKHSA, United Kingdom together with the local organizers Izabela Milcewicz-Mika and Agnieszka Szumska, IFJ PAN, Kraków, Poland
The general purpose of the course is the implementation of the European Commission’s Technical Recommendations for Monitoring Individuals Occupationally Exposed to External Radiation (Radiation Protection 160, RP160). All aspects of individual monitoring as discussed in RP160 will be addressed during the course with an emphasis on metrology, quality assurance and type testing. Recent developments will also be covered, including changes resulting from the new version of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the impact of the EU Directive 2013/59/Euratom and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
